The Kerske family has been helping Nashvillians create beautiful landscapes since 2003. Gardens of Babylon was an instant hit in East Nashville as this area of town started to grow. Their knowledge of landscaping, passion for sustainable living, and down-to-earth personal service combined to make them the top resource for local residents and businesses needing help with smarter and healthier landscapes.

Meet The Garden Staff

The growth of the business led them to a bigger space at the downtown Nashville Farmers’ Market as the anchor business, where they have two greenhouses and a large outdoor area within their Garden Market. This retail market provides a resource for locals looking for fresh plants, garden accessories, great advice, and organic garden amendments and needs.

The company is balanced and strong, with Mark Kerske leading Landscape and Maintenance operations, Marcus Kerske (Mark’s son) steering the holistic vision and management of the company, and Matt Kerske (another of Mark’s sons) guiding the Garden Market.

They are actively connected with their community through local organizations focused on healthy water, soil, and food issues. They regularly give talks, demonstrations, and consulting services to aid their community in learning about options for living and growing sustainability.

Mark, Marcus and Matt Kerske, GB’s Principals, each play a key role on the company’s management team.
